![]() I am drawn to battery powered (I have an electric car and an EGO electric lawnmower that I LOVE) but it just looks like they ain't ready for a two-stage battery.ĪLL OF THAT SAID. I neeeeeed something that will just work. I know there are other electric single stages but they are not well rated (at least per consumer reports). I tried my hardest to stay away from gas. Gotta chew those up, so I think I have to go two stage. And the worst by far is the snowplow piles. We get about 80-120 inches a year, some of it in big storms. I have two little kids and work from home in Ottawa. Which if I'm spending $1800, I can't be having right out of the box issues. I had my heart set on the EGO 24" but they are out of stock and people are reporting issues with them right out of the box. I have a little snowjoe corded which was. I am looking for a first-time snowblower. I had to take the handle off and rethread the pull-cord.I've posted a couple of times in the EGO forum but I'm turning to the shopping crowd. I didn't notice until I tried to screw everything back together. I passed the pull-cord through the hole for the electric start switch. Before you close it up, be sure to cut the cable tie securing the reel and now let the cord draw in. Now reverse these directions and put it back together. Use a screwdriver to push it out once you see it in the channel. The cord has a hard time turning in the small space. Just run the floss though and tie it to the pull-cord. Dental floss is extremely strong for its size.īefore you do this step, did you thread the pull-cord through the proper holes to the outside of this machine? I threaded the dental floss through the holes and pulled the cord through. I grabbed some dental floss and tied it to the pull-cord. I couldn't easily thread the pull-cord through the holes. I use a lighter to melt the end of the cord together. It frays very easily.Ī bit hard to see here. Use the cut cord to size your new pull cord to the proper length. When you do, the cable tie will hold the reel in place. Now the reel spring is properly tensioned. Then I put a cable tie through the spokes of the wheel attaching it to the reel casing. I PULLED THE CORD OUT TO ITS FULL LENGTH AS IF I STARTED IT. I put the reel back into the installed position. You can see the cord is held in with one simple knot. The pull-cord metal casing and reel are now free to remove. My guess is Toro omitted this screw for this very reason. I would not have been able to get the bottom screw without disassembling the bottom shell if that #4 screw were present. The pull-cord housing in mine was only held on by 3 screws (fortunately). Toro Powerlite Snow Thrower Blower Pull-Cord Replacement / Belt Repair - ContinuedĪt this point you've discovered the wheel bracket and motor support are one and the same because the whole machine collapsed when you removed the bolts supporting the wheel. ![]()
